Meet LESLIE JACKSON
Certified Nurse Midwife, Owner and Founder, In His Hands Midwifery
Since Leslie was a little girl, she knew she wanted to spend her life helping others. It was when her mother was diagnosed with cancer, and living out that journey, that she decided to become a Registered Nurse. After having 4 children of her own, labor and delivery became the passion that drove her career as an RN. But she didn't want to stop there!
She decided to pursue a career in Midwifery after her many years as a Labor & Delivery Nurse. She graduated from the University of Michigan and obtained her masters degree in Nurse Midwifery. Tiring of the hospital environment, she became curious about out-of-hospital Midwifery care. Her passion for out-of-hospital birth was solidified through her work with Jeanine Tate, CNM at Plano Birth Place in Plano, Texas. Seeing the opportunity before her, she moved to Texas with her family and established her own midwifery practice called In His Hands Midwifery.
Leslie believes that “birth is normal until it’s not.” God has so designed the woman’s body to do exactly what it is supposed to do. Her midwifery care empowers women to listen to their bodies and deliver their babies naturally. Sometimes intervention is necessary and as your midwife, she is trained to observe and intervene appropriately when complications arise.
